Hotel Stupka

Nice hotel with wonderful surrounding. Rooms are quite tiny, but clean. Pool service is little bit odd, because you should take towell from your room. Nice service was a bar near the pool, but staff there was a little bit bored... Food was tasty, on the other hand breakfasts were monotonous and I missed there some more sweets. As well as menu was without more variations of sweet food, i. e. pancakes... Other was fine.

We expected better service for the price. There were minor inconveniences in the room. E.G., the bedside lamps are useless and the heating is loud all night. The biggest disappointment was the dinner. The details of the half-board service weren't clear at all. What is "you can choose anything" at the reception, got completely different at the restaurant. You can choose from the cheap side of the menu only. The second evening they were not even open, so we had to go to another place where they served us on behalf of the hotel. The menu is poorly translated into English. They serve bryndza instead of goat cheese. The pork pie is something else too. Much more head cheese. The options for beverages are very limited. They burnt my sausages. Almost a third of them were unedible, plainly coal. The not burnt part was good though. I believe they are not really ready for international guests. With a bit better communication a lot of problems could be solved. I am not familiar with the other places in this area, but next time we would try our luck somewhere else.

The hotel looks nice and clean. The bathroom was modern and I was satisfied with the quality of it. Although there was no fridge in the room I was wondering why we have a bottle opener then. :) The breakfast is ok. Staff in restaurant are not the best. I had the most annoying experience ever: Due to their lack of English knowledge they misunderstand what we wanted to separately pay in different rooms. Not a big deal, but when we just highlighted the problem we had the most shocking answer on it: "not my problem". Really?? After this on next morning when we asked for sweetener the answer was: "no". While one day ago we got some. So if you're on diet think twice to have a breakfast. Maybe you get sweetener maybe not. Depends on staff's mood. Very disappointed.
